Forget the old myth that pigs are dirty. In reality, pigs are very hygienic animals. They instinctively separate their sleeping and eating areas to stay clean.
When you see pigs rolling in the mud, it’s not because they’re dirty, it’s their way of staying cool, protecting their skin from the sun, and warding off pesky bugs.
At our farm, we ensure our pigs have clean, comfortable spaces where they can thrive.
Pigs Have an Incredible Sense of Smell
Pigs have super-powered noses. They can detect scents up to 25 feet underground. This incredible sense of smell is why pigs are sometimes trained to hunt for truffles, rare and valuable fungi hidden deep beneath the soil.
Their snouts aren’t just cute; they are powerful tools for exploration and foraging.
Pigs Are Fast and Agile
Think pigs are slow? Think again. Pigs can sprint at speeds up to 11 miles per hour and are surprisingly agile.
They can quickly maneuver round obstacles and even leap over small barriers when needed.
